The recovery email
The messages recovery sends, what each one says, and how to open the recovery link correctly.
On this page
Recovery runs on email. The messages go only to verified email addresses of the account. They never ask for your password, and they never say that an account does or does not exist. This page describes each message and the page its link opens. This email is written in the language saved on your profile, otherwise in the language the application you started recovery from asked for, otherwise English. The English wording is quoted here; see Languages.
The recovery link#
The subject is Recover your TDACorp Identity account. The message says that someone asked to recover access to the account for this address, and that if it was you, you should open the link in the same browser you asked from. A confirmation step follows before anything happens. Its button is Start recovery.
It also says what recovery does: Recovery signs you out everywhere and limits the new session to your security settings until you set your sign-in methods again. The message states when the link expires. It works once. If you did not ask for it, ignore the message and consider changing your password.
Use the same browser#
The link is tied to the browser you asked from. Open it in that browser. A link opened in a different browser does not work. Some mail apps open links in their own built-in viewer, which counts as a different browser. If that happens, copy the link and paste it into the browser you asked from, or ask again from the browser you want to use.
The page the link opens#
The link opens a page titled Continue recovery. It says Continue to start the recovery of your account. and Opening this page changes nothing. Only the button below continues. A mail scanner or link preview that fetches the link therefore cannot start anything for you.
- Read the page. If you did not ask for recovery, use Did you not ask for this? with the link Cancel the recovery in the footer. See Cancel a recovery.
- If you did, select Continue recovery.
- One of two things happens. You are taken on to Secure your account, or the page tells you recovery is on hold. See The recovery waiting period and Secure your account.

- Continue recovery.
- Cancel the recovery, under Did you not ask for this?
The hold notice#
When a waiting period applies, a second message goes to every verified address on the account. Its subject is Account recovery started: cancel it if this was not you. It shows when recovery was Started and Held until, explains that recovery is held and that nothing about your sign-in methods changes before then, and has a button, Cancel recovery. If it was you, the message says to ignore it and ask for recovery again from the same browser after the hold ends.
The on-hold message#
If recovery is asked for again while a waiting period is still running, you receive Your account recovery is on hold. It says Recovery was asked for again, but a security hold is still running. and shows Available after with a time. It says to ask again from the same browser after that time and you will get a new link. It carries no link of its own.
The code-not-accepted message#
If someone types a recovery code on the recovery page and it does not match, the account's verified address receives A recovery code was not accepted. It shows the Time, says that nothing was changed, and says that if it was you, you should check the code and try again, or ask for recovery without a code. If it was not you, no action is needed, but you should consider changing your password.
If the message does not arrive#
- Check your junk folder.
- Make sure you typed the address of the account.
- Wait a few minutes and, if needed, ask again. The page answers the same way each time, so it will not confirm that a message was sent.
